
Xandra Popescu is a filmmaker and visual artist based in Berlin. She studied politics and playwriting and is currently enrolled in the directing program at the Deutsche Film-und Fernsehakademie Berlin. Xandra co-wrote the feature "Prowl" (2016), which premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival and won the Max Ophüls Prize and the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury in Saarbrücken. Her short films, "Perfect Two" (2022) and "Sentimental Stories" (2023), premiered at Kurzfilmtage Winterthur and Venice Film Festival, respectively. Her short documentary "On the Impossibility of an Homage" (2024) premiered in Locarno in the Pardi di Domani competition.
