Romania is a country of contrasts and opportunities for filmmakers. Its cities, like Bucharest, offer striking urban settings, from brutalist landmarks to vibrant neighborhoods and sleek modern architecture. Beyond the cityscape, Romania's medieval towns, like Brașov and Sibiu, bring historical charm, while its diverse natural environments—forests, mountains, and rivers—provide dramatic and versatile backdrops for any story.

With competitive production costs and a supportive local film infrastructure, Romania offers not just variety but value. And with microFILM at your side, you’ll have a partner who knows how to maximize every opportunity the country has to offer. Let's make something extraordinary.

With up to 30% cash back on eligible local production expenses, and a cap of €10 million per project, this program is designed to support a wide range of audiovisual projects, from feature films and series to documentaries and animations.

Key highlights:

  • Generous Rebates:

Up to 30% of local spend reimbursed

  • Projects Eligible:

Feature films, TV series, documentaries, and animations qualify

  • Spending Thresholds:

Start as low as €15.000 for shorts, €50.000 for documentaries,
